Using the Load Plan Yield Reporting Records utility

This planning utility calculates and saves yield reporting records for budgets and forecasts. Its purpose is to ensure that yield reporting records (i.e. INT, ANNINT, FEE, ANNFEE, etc.) are generated for all interest related accounts mapped to balance sheet accounts using the ACCT.Balance SheetAcct column. The utility processes all interest-related accounts that are budgeted using non-interest calc methods or with custom utilities, like loan fees or FASB. It does not process interest records generated from the Balance Sheet template or by the Bank Balancer utility since both of these already calculate INT and ANNINT records for the balance sheet accounts they are projecting.

The utility uses the following criteria to select interest records from the budget's plan table:

• BUDYYYY members will have a balance sheet account mapped to the Balance SheetAcct column of the Account dimension table.
• The utility will process all interest accounts where the BudgetInUtility column value in the BUDYYYY reference table is set to TRUE. This is because interest records generated from custom utilities generally do not have yield reporting records generated by those utilities.

• The system skips accounts listed in the Interest ACCT column in the Interest Bearing Map driver file (see below) if BudgetInUtility is FALSE. This is because these interest accounts are calculated using plan file Balance Sheet calculation methods, which also generate yield reporting records.

• The system skips records generated by the Bank Balancer utility, which are identified in the Detail column of the target plan table, since that utility also generates yield reporting records.

  NOTE: All utilities use the AccrualBasis values assigned to the BUDACCTs in the Account dimension to calculate annualized yield reporting records. It is, therefore, important the accounts designated as BUDAACTs are consistent with the accrual basis used for your financial reporting.

Processing yield reporting records for a budget

To process yield reporting records for a budget:

1. Open a budget, scenario, or forecast.

2. Click the Plan Utilities tab.

3. Do one of the following:

   • To process only this utility, in the Process Plan Utilities column, locate Load Plan Yield Reporting Records in the list, and click Process.

   • To process all planning utilities, click Process All.
